World No. 1 Wang Faces Challenge from Chinese Taipei in Universiade

World top ranked Wang Liqin of China will have to overcome Chinese Taipei's Chiang Peng-Lung before he makes men's table tennis singles final at the World University Games.

Friday's draw put world champion Wang, Asian champion Chiang and another Chinese Taipei star Chang Yen-Shu in the first half.

World number four Liu Guozheng of China is in the second half with Chuan Chi-Yuan, also of Chinese Taipei.

Top women seed Zhang Yining of China is in the first half with Olympic bronze medalist Kim Moo-Kyo of South Korea.

Ryu Ji-Hye, also of South Korea, is expected to meet Chinese Niu Jianfeng in the women's singles semifinals.
