President Jiang Stresses Public Security Work
Chinese President Jiang Zemin met Friday with participants of a working meeting on comprehensive management of public security.
Also attending the meeting at the Great Hall of the People were national outstanding groups and individuals involved in comprehensive management of public security work between 1997 and 2000.
Jiang, also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the Central Military Commission, stressed the importance of the comprehensive management of public security work and asked all related departments and individuals to contribute even more to the reform, development and stability of the country.
Top state leaders Zhu Rongji, Hu Jintao and Wei Jianxing also were present at the meeting.
