Taiwan's Salary Growth Posts 20-Year Low

Taiwan's average monthly salary rose 1.22 percent over the same period of last year to 34,140 New Taiwan dollars (987 US dollars) in the first six months of this year, representing the lowest growth in 20 years, according to reports reaching here from Taibei.

The tiny growth was mainly attributed to the reduction of weekly working hours implemented from the beginning of January this year.
