FAW-VW's New Product Rolls Off Production Line

FAW's BORA Rolls off
The first Bora car, a new product of the FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Company Ltd. based in northeast China's Jilin province, rolled off the production line Thursday afternoon in Changchun.

This also marked the 10th anniversary of the successful cooperation between the FAW, a leading Chinese auto producer, and Volkswagen.

Dr. Ferdinand Piech, president of the Volkswagen, and Zhu Yanfeng, general manager of FAW, were present at Thursday's ceremony.

The new product, priced at between 170,000 to 230,000 yuan (20, 000 to 28,000 U.S. dollars), is expected to appear in auto salesrooms early next year.

FAW-Volkswagen is now one of the major auto producers in the China market. In May, it was selected by Fortune magazine as the most admired joint venture in China.
