Chinese Women Soccer Ease into Quarter-finals
Pu Wei and Mo Chenyue each scored twice as Chinese Women eased into the quarter-finals of women's soccer with a 6-1 win over Finland at the ongoing 21st University Games here on Thursday.

Pu Wei, a member of the Chinese team which finished runners-up to the United States in the World Cup in 1999, opened the scoring for the hosts four minutes into the Group A match.

Mo Chenyue scored on two headers in the 18th and 37th minute respectively and Ren Ruiping made her contribution in between to make it 4-0 at the break.

In the second half, Pan Lina and Pu Wei each added one for China with Finland's lone goal coming from Julim Jessica.

China, who secured a quarter-final place with the victory in the 12-squad tournament, will play Saturday their second and final group match against Brazil, 1-0 winners over Finland on Tuesday.

The Finns will go to the 9-12 play-offs.
