Judoka Yuan Wins First Gold for China at Universiade
Olympic champion Yuan Hua, as expected before the competition, easily won the first gold medal for China at the 21st World University Games Thursday.

Yuan, 27, beat Maki Tsukada of Japan in the final to take the women's over 78kg judo title.

The bronze medal went to Prokofyeva Maryna of Ukraine and Russian Donguzachvili Tea, who defeated Italian Andolina Barbara and Lee Hsiao Hung of Chinese Taipei respectively.
