Chinese Taipei Beats Macao of China at Universiade Table Tennis

Chinese Taipei's men's team Thursday grabbed a good start at the Universiade table tennis by beating Macao of China 3-0.

The men's team of Chinese Taipei, which is considered the favorite for the title, presented their strength by winning straight sets and never let players from Macao of China score more than 10.

Chinese Taipei sent Chang Yen-Shu, Chuan Chin-Yuan and Kuo Chin- Hsiang to face Macao of China. Chiang Peng-Lung, the top player in the team and also the hopeful in men's singles events, did not appear in the court.

Chinese Taipei will face Estonia, who defeated Macao of China early in the morning, in the second round of qualifications at Thursday night later.
