Sui and Chen Power China to 119-65 Win over Chinese Taipei

Sui and Chen Power China to 119-65 Win over Chinese Taipei
Power forwards Sui Feifei and Chen Luyun had 20 points each to lead the Chinese women's basketball team to a 119-67 slash of Chinese Taipei in their first appearance on Thursday.

Sui added 11 rebounds and three assists in her two-quarter play to put China 2-0 in Group A after the gold medal favorite won by default on Wednesday when Kazakhstan failed to show up.

Point guard Pan Wei shot a perfect game as she was 5-5 in the field, and converted two free-throws and one three-pointer to finish 15 points. Six Chinese players had double-figure scores with Hu Xiaotao, 14; Chen Xiaoli, 14; Miao Lijie, 13; Zhang Jue, 10.

China, who won the East Asian Games golds in May, outscored Chinese Taipei in every quarter.

Guard Ma Yi-hung led Chinese Taipei, who finished sixth in the last version of the competition two years ago, by 17 point.
