Int'l Conference on Psychotherapy Held in ChinaOver 100 experts from 14 countries gathered this week in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, to attend an international conference on psychotherapy.
With the theme of "Dialogue between the East and West," the conference has attracted experts from the United States, India, China and Germany in fields of psychotherapy, sociology, anthropology, and psychology.
Chinese experts said that the conference has provided Chinese medical staff with a good opportunity to study psychotherapy.
Mental illnesses will become prominent public health problems in China in the coming century, because mental illnesses are predicted to become a major health burden to Chinese society by 2010, according to a report from the World Health Organization (WHO).
