Presidents of Vietnam, Indonesia Hold TalksUnceasingly promoting and developing the traditional friendly cooperation with Indonesia is Vietnam's unchanged and long-term policy, Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong affirmed.Luong made the affirmation here Wednesday while holding talks with his visiting Indonesian counterpart Megawati Soekarnoputri. Vietnamese President described Megawati Soekarnoputri's visit to Vietnam as an important event, marking a new phase of the development of the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia. Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri also expressed her belief that the visit will greatly contribute to further strengthening and expanding the friendly relationship between the two countries. During the talks, the two sides briefed each other on their domestic situation and produced specific measures aiming to further promote the bilateral cooperation as well as cooperation in the framework of ASEAN, region and the world. They are determined to promote the development of the cooperation between the two countries through strengthening the cooperation in the fields of trade, commerce, investment, tourist and culture. The newly-elected Indonesian President also met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai. Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri concluded her half- day visit on Wednesday afternoon, leaving here for Laos. Vietnam is the second leg of Megawati's ASEAN countries tour after she assumed presidency on July 23.
