Mongolia to Host World Student Chess Championships of 2002

Mongolia will host the World Student Chess Championships of 2002, said an official of the Mongolian Students Sport Association on Tuesday.

The official said that this decision was made at the regular session of the Executive Committee of the Federation of International Students Universiade (FISU), which was held in Beijing, China on August 18-19.

He said that Spain, Iran and other countries competed with Mongolia for the right of hosting the World Student Chess Championships. In the end Mongolia received majority of vote from 23 member countries of the FISU.

Deputy Minister of Health of Mongolia N. Udval, Secretary of the Mongolian Students Sport Association D. Jargalsaikhan and President of the Association D. Bayasgalan attended the regular meeting of the Executive Committee of the FISU.
