6th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention to Be Held in Nanjing
The sixth World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention will be held in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, on September 17 to 19, the China Business Times and the New China News Limited (NCN) jointly announced Tuesday.

Some 4,500 people, including 3,000 entrepreneurs of Chinese origin from overseas, will attend the meeting which is to be held for the first time in Chinese Mainland.

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji will address at the meeting. Minister of the State Development Planning Commission Zeng Peiyan, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng, and Governor of the People's Bank of China Dai Xianglong will also speak on special topics.

The convention is sponsored by the All-China Federation for Industry and Commerce, the Chinese Association for Overseas Exchanges, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China Federation of Overseas Chinese and Nanjing City.

China Business Times, a national daily newspaper under the Association of All-China Industry and Commerce and China Civilian Chamber of Commerce, will cover the convention comprehensively.

It will also cooperate with NCN under Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong Branch to undertake reporting and promotion tasks on the convention in Hong Kong and in the Pacific Area in general.

Chief editors of more than 100 overseas Chinese newspapers who attend the convention will hold a seminar on the development of Chinese newspapers.

The purpose of the World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention, initiated in 1991, is to unite Chinese entrepreneurs worldwide to jointly promote economic and trade cooperation and mutual development.

Previous meetings have been held in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada and Australia.
