China's Men Tennis Team Keeps Low Key in UniversiadeChina's men tennis team is being trained hard in a sun-bathed court of the newly-built Beijing Muxiyuan Tennis Center on Monday and keeps a low key in the upcoming Universiade tennis games to be held on August 23-30.Ma Keqin, the head coach of the team, said at the court that his players are well prepared for the games and their morale is quite high. But he refused to predict the results of the games. "It is hard to say who will win the events or what kinds of medals can be gained now," Ma said. "The situation will be clear after the draw on August 22," he added. The registration for the Universiade tennis games will be over half an hour before the draw. So far, about 140 competitors from 36 countries and regions have already registered. They will compete in five events -- men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. After a heavy rain on Sunday, which prevented all the registered tennis players from training for a whole day, the 17 courts of the tennis center were all occupied on Monday. Various teams had to undertake training in turns, one hour each. |
