Gosper Heaps Praises on Press Center and Athletes' Village of Universiade
Kevan Gosper, vice president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), lavished his praises on the Press Center and the Athletes' village of the 21st University Games after he paid a visit on August 20.

Gosper said it's very difficult to make suggestions to help Beijing improve its service and organizing work, because "all is very good."

Upon hearing journalists have easy access to the internet at the press center, Gosper expressed his satisfaction , saying "it's very important for journalists to obtain message timely."

Various high-tech services, such as wireless internet, integrated service digital network (ISDN) and video transmission, are also provided at the press center.

Gosper, who is on a four-day visit to Beijing, said the first- class information services at the press center are among the best he has ever seen.

More than 10,000 university-student volunteers are working at various posts, playing an important role in the University Games.

Gosper was exulted when he saw many volunteers working hard at the press center and said the Universiade experiences would be valuable to them.

The newly-built athletes' village impressed Gosper deeply with clean and beautiful environment and all-round services.

"I'm watching the athletes' faces and their faces tell me they are very happy," said the 68-year-old Gosper. "And this is the test for the village."

With a human-centric design, the athletes' village has won wide praise from athletes and officials who have entered.

"For all the abilities and experience of the Chinese people and Chinese sports people, you know and we know, you would deliver the greatest games in 2008." Gosper said with full confidence.
