HK Trade Official to Attend APEC Senior Officials Meeting in 2001Joshua Law, director-general of trade and industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, will depart for Dalian Monday to attend the third APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) Senior Officials Meeting (SOM III) to be held there from August 22-24.The Hong Kong, China delegation to SOM III and related committees/sub-committees meetings comprise officials from a number of policy bureaux and departments, according to a government press release here Sunday. In addition, a number of academics from the local educational institutions who assist in the preparation of the 2001 APEC Economic Outlook will participate in the Economic Committee Meeting on August 20 and 21. This year, Hong Kong, China is in charge of the preparation of the Economic Outlook, and will present the research results and major findings at SOM III. |
