Culture Festival Highlights Beijing Universiade
An unprecedented culture festival will go alongside with the 21st University Games, top official of the organizing committee said on Monday.
"The Beijing Universiade is a good chance for China and Beijing to introduce Chinese culture to the world. The culture festival will set off with a ceremony at the Great Hall of the People tomorrow night at 8:00 pm," said Long Xinmin, vice chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Universiade.
There will be more than 30 theatrical performances on ten stages of major theaters of the city every night during the festival, Long said, including Beijing opera, symphonies, ballet, etc..
"Night of Beijing" activities from August 23-31 at all major public squares near the Athletes Village and in eight districts of Beijing, goes together with a party of Chinese and students from all over the world on August 25 at the Chinese Nationalities Park, Long added.
