China Beat Cuba in Women's Volleyball Grand Prix

China Beat Cuba in Women's Volleyball Grand Prix
The Chinese women's volleyball team scored their 8th straight victory in the Grand Prix, beating Cuba 3-1 for the title of the Harbin tournament on Sunday.

The set scores are 25-23, 25-10, 23-25 and 28-26.

The Chinese team top the team standings with 8 wins against one defeat in the eight-team Grand Prix series.

The Chinese team, which had beaten Cuba twice in the earlier Grand Prix tournaments before Sunday's match, showed they were better than their Cuban counterparts in team work and fast attacking.

After tying at 23-23, Liu Yanan and Zhang Jing spiked two points in a row to seal the first set 25-23.

The second set turned to be a disaster for the Cubans as they were totally outmatched by the Chinese team and conceded the set 25-10.

But they staged a comeback in the third one, winning in 25-23.

The highlight of the match came in the fourth set when the two teams played a more even game. The Chinese team again took the set 28-26 thanks to blocking of Zhou Suhong and spikes of Yang Hao.

Earlier on Sunday, the United States beat Germany 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-19).

Cuba finished second in the Harbin tournament, followed by the United States and Germany in the third and fourth places respectively.
