Somalia's Transport Headquarters Inaugurated in Mogadishu
In an attempt to restore the rule of law in Mogadishu, the Transitional National government (TNG) of Somalia Sunday inaugurated the headquarters of the Ministry of Air and Land Transports.
Somali Deputy Prime Minister Osman Jama Ali cut the ribbon for the operation of the ministry, which is the first to come out to the public service.
The large ceremony was not confined to the opening of the premises, but it has had also to do with the real start of the operations of the ministry especially its section concerned with the issuance of the licenses for driving and plate numbers for the cars.
Minister of Air and Land Transports Abdi Guled Mohamed said his ministry is starting counting down all kinds of vehicles in circulation in the country as part of the security improvement. " We've also started registering the private airplanes and licenses will be issued for them as well," he added.
