Thai Princess Visits Tibetan Farmer's Home

Visiting Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the home of a Tibetan farmer during her trip to Tibet Sunday.

The Thai Princess chatted with Mima Toinzhub, a 63-year-old Tibetan farmer, when she stopped off at the farmer's home in Jiagen Village, Bianxiong township, on her way to Xigaze in southern Tibet.

She talked with the old man about farming, religious activities and daily life of the local Tibetans.

Upon leaving the farmer's house, she presented the Tibetan host with gifts and said their house was "very beautiful."

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has been to inland China 14 times; however, this is her first visit to Tibet. She arrived in Lhasa, capital city of Tibet, for a week-long visit to this autonomous region of China on August 17.
