GE Appliances to Purchase More in China
General Electric (GE) Appliances announced Friday in Shanghai that it will double its purchase in China within the coming one or two years.
Taking China as its important purchase base, GE Appliances plans to fulfill one third of its total purchase in China this year, said President and CEO Jim Campbell at an annual meeting for the company's Asian suppliers.
As one of the major divisions of the world business giant General Electric, GE Appliances began to make purchase in China in the 1980s, with the goods ranging from raw materials to home appliances such as air-conditioners and washing machines.
More than 70 home appliances manufacturers from Asian countries including China participated in the meeting, which aims to enhance the exchanges between GE Appliances and its suppliers.
