Buddhist Summer Camp Held in Central China

A week-long Buddhist summer camp began Wednesday in the Sizu Temple in central China's Hubei Province.

Some 200 famous Buddhist masters, young Buddhists, experts and scholars are participating in the summer camp, at which they will study classic Buddhist scriptures and share their achievements in the study of Buddhist doctrines.

Located in Huangmei County in Hubei Province, the Sizu Temple was built 1,300 years ago, and is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China.

From January to July this year, more than 220,000 people from home and abroad visited the temple.

The summer camp is being presided over by Buddhist Master Jinghui, vice chairman of the Buddhist Association of China, and Master Benhuan, the abbot of the temple.
