Thai Princess Visits Qinghai

Governor of Qinghai Province Zhao Leji met visiting Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand Thursday in Xining.

Princess Sirindhorn arrived at Xining Wednesday for a three-day official friendly visit in this western China province. She will leave Friday for Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region to continue her visit in China.

Princess Sirindhorn showed great interest in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau scenery and local religions when visiting the famous Ta'er Monastery and the beautiful Qinghai Lake Thursday. Friday she will visit the Qinghai Provincial Museum and the Dongguan Monastery of Xining.

Governor Zhao entertained the Princess this evening and introduced the basic conditions of the province. He said that the Princess's first visit to Qinghai will set up a bridge of exchange and cooperation between Thailand and Qinghai Province, Qinghai and its five million residents warmly welcome the Princess, and welcome people from all social circles of Thailand to visit or invest in the province.
