Int'l Children's Chorus Festival to Be Held in E. China City

The 2001 Quanzhou International Children's Chorus Festival will be held in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province in east China during September 18-22.

Eight choral groups from Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam as well as Taipei City, Hong Kong and Macao, and 14 choruses from the Chinese mainland will give performances during the festival, which is jointly hosted by the China Chorus Union, the China Central Television (CCTV) and the municipal government of Quanzhou.

This event also involves a special tree-planting activity, and musical tribute to the late Li Shutong, the pioneer of Chinese modern art education.

Some of the choral groups will go to some schools for group concerts.
