Picture Album Recording Japanese Aggression Found

A photo album titled "The Art of Holy War" has been found in Beijing, adding to the irrefutable evidence of Japan's brutal aggression of China, a local newspaper said Thursday in Beijing.

With a collection of 232 paintings and photos all by Japanese, the album details the invasion of the Japanese army in both central and northern China.

Two notorious war criminals in World War II, namely Iwane Matsunoi and Seishiro Itagaki, made their inscriptions on the title page, said the Beijing Morning Post.

The preface was written by Iwane Matsunoi, the then chairman of the Art Association of Japanese land forces and the mastermind behind the Nanjing Massacre, which killed 300,000 Chinese.

Lu Dekang, who owns the album, said that it was a souvenir from a battle against Japanese aggressors. One of his fellow soldiers left it to him in 1953.
