Chinese Students Protest Koizumi's Visit to Yasukuni ShrineDozens of students from Qinghua University, one of China's most prestigious institutions of higher learning, rallied Thursday morning before the Japanese Embassy to China to protest Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's recent visit to the Yasukuni Shrine.The students delivered a written letter of protest to the embassy officials in which they emphasized the Japanese government should keep in mind that the Chinese people's feelings can not be insulted. Three Qinghua students carried a banner on which was written in Chinese "Resolutely Condemning Japanese Prime Minister's Visit to Yasukuni Shrine". They also burned two paper Japanese national flags before the embassy to vent their anger. |
