China Exports 125 MW Power-generating Sets to Bangladesh

Three Chinese companies have lately signed contract in Decca with Bangladeshi Barapukulia Power Plant for the project of 125 MW thermal power-generating sets.

This is the first time for China to export 125 MW thermal power equipment to foreign country.

The Barapukulia Power Plant, a national key project in Bangladesh, lies at a place some 300 km from Dacca in the north of the country. After years of endeavor, China National Machinery Import & Export Corp., Shanghai Electric Corp and Shenzhen Energy Engineering Corporation won the bid for the construction of the project.

Sources in Shanghai Electric Group said that this is one of the company's major projects. The two sets of the 125 MW power units are designed and manufactured by the company itself and the two units are of sophisticated technology and quality. Using this as a model the company is determined to build it into a state-of-art project so as to make it a superior brand in the world market.
