Guangdong Customs Seizes 25.6 Million Pirated Discs

South China's Guangdong province seized 25.6 million pirated CDs by the end of July this year, twice the amount compared with the same period of last year.

In its massive crackdown on pirated discs, the Guangdong customs handled 25 serious cases by July, each involving the smuggling of over 10,000 discs.

The main channels for the pirating were the sea transportation in small fishing boats, and vessels coming and going between Hong Kong and the mainland, said an official with local customs.

A vessel carrying 2.3 million pirated discs was seized on the sea area near Zhuhai on June 17. The case is the largest handled by the Guangdong customs so far this year.
