Auto Output Exceeds 2 Million, Eighth in the World: Report

China and Mexico have squeezed into top ten in world aotumobile production, according to a lately survey from the ROK.

The report said that the two countries would have a fierce competition with the ROK in the manufacturing of small-sized autos.

The auto output of the ROK leapfrogged to the world seventh in 1996 and jumped to the fifth last year.

Meanwhile, China's auto output last year surpassed 2 million to reach the world's eighth from the ninth in the previous year. In addition, Mexico edged into world top ten last year for the first time and was placed at the ninth.
