Shanxi Province Draws Big Sum of Foreign Investment
The just concluded International Economic and Trade Tourism Week in north China's Shanxi Province successfully attracted foreign investment totaling 330 million US dollars, it was reported.
According to the organizing committee, some 400 overseas investors from over 20 countries and regions attended the week- long fair, during which they signed documents on 62 cooperation projects, including 48 contracts.
Hong Kong alone signed several agreements with the province, involving more than 69.2 million US dollars to boost the province's tourism industry.
In addition, domestic investors also showed interest and signed agreements on 20 projects, totaling 1.39 billion yuan (167 million US dollars).
Sources with the organizing committee said that those projects are mainly about infrastructure construction, environmental protection and tourism.
