Scenic Province Attracts Overseas Tourists

The scenic beauty of east China's Anhui Province is luring more and more overseas tourists.

Statistics from the local tourism bureau show that more than 120,000 overseas travelers visited the province in the first half of this year, up 14.2 percent over the same period of last year.

Tourism is playing an important role in the province as Huangshan Mountains, a mecca for Chinese tourists, and Jiuhua Mountains, Taiping Lake, and many other tourist resources are situated here.

Over the past few years, the provincial government has increased funds to improve the infrastructures and environment. Four highways were built and new airlines linking the province with the rest of the world were put into operation.

Currently, six other highways are under construction in the province.
