Shenyang to Improve City Infrastructure Facilities
Shenyang, capital of north China's Liaoning Province, has spent over one billion yuan (about US$120 million) to improve the city's infrastructure this year.
The city's construction department has started to renovate 38 roads and streets, totaling 90 kilometers in length and covering 3. 05 million square meters. All the road renovation projects will be completed by September 15.
Shenyang also spent 640 million yuan (about 77.1 million US dollars) in planting trees and grass, which has added 1.39 million trees and over 220.2 hectares of grassland to the city.
Chen Zhenggao, mayor of Shenyang, said that people will see large improvements in the environment in Shenyang within five years.
