Powerful China Helpful to Global Balance of Power: Egyptian PM
Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Obeid said on Monday that a powerful China would promote a global balance of power "helpfully."
"China is a great country without aggressive ambitions in its foreign policy, so we are all supporting China to become strong and prosperous in order to help restore the global balance of power," said Obeid during a meeting with outgoing Chinese Ambassador in Cairo An Huihou.
Obeid said that leaders of the two countries have attached great importance to the bilateral friendly ties, expressing hope that the Egyptian-Chinese relations would be further enhanced.
"We have devoted much attention to a strategic and cooperative relations with China and carried on cooperation with the high-tech sector in China," he said.
Obeid added that Egypt and China can complement each other "very strongly," voicing hope that the two sides can cooperate in the construction of infrastructure such as communication, ports and hotels.
On his side, An said that the Sino-Egyptian relations made significant progress in various fields in the past two years, adding that both sides have supported each other in international affairs for a long time.
"The Chinese government encourages businessmen to invest in Egypt. I am confident that with the increase of China's economic strength and improvement of Egypt's investment condition, the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries will have a promising prospect," An stressed.
