American Pianist Popular With Chinese Audience

American pianist Linda Genteel has found wide popularity in China on her tour to this Ancient capital.

On Sunday and Monday nights, aspiring pianists and music fans in Taiyuan, capital of north China's Shanxi Province, swarmed to two concerts given by the American pianist.

Genteel, known as "American piano princess" among Chinese music lovers, played more than 20 pieces of music, including pieces of classical music and theme music from blockbuster films, such as " My Heart Will Go On" from "Titanic" and "Unchained Melody " from " Ghost", as well as "Butterfly Lovers", China's most famous romantic music piece.

"We are intoxicated with her skill, elegant and romantic manner and her fascinating image," said a group of teenager boys who went to one of Genteel's concerts.

"Her performance is like a breeze that cools us on the hot summer nights in Taiyuan," they went on.

Taiyuan is the first stop on Linda Genteel's concert tour of China. She will also hold concerts in a dozen of other Chinese cities.
