Brazil Beat Germany in Women's Volleyball Grand Prix

Brazil survived a five-set thriller to beat Germany 3-2 in the women's volleyball Grand Prix in Harbin on Friday, August 10.

The Brazilian team, led by veteran Helia Souza, took the first two sets 25-20, 27-25 and seemed to likely to wrap up the match in straight sets.

But the Germans refused to give up and from the third set on they improved their block and forced the match into the decisive fifth set after they took the third and fourth sets 25-17 and 25- 22 respectively.

The more experienced Brazilian team then calmed down and got back their rhythm in winning the set and the match 15-8.

The Brazilian team will take on Japan while Germany play China on Saturday.
