International Sand Sculpture Festival to be Held in East China

An international sand sculpture festival will be held from September 16 to October 31 at the Golden Beach of Zhujiajian, an islet east of Zhoushan Island, in east China's Zhejiang Province, according to Shanghai sources.

A group of sculptures will be made to present the whole story depicted in the famous ancient Greek epic Odyssey.

The Inaxi company from the Netherlands, famous in world sand sculpture circles, will send 34 top-level sculptors to finish the sculptures within 15 days. Upon completion, the group of sand sculptures will create the record of being the largest piece of sand art on the Pacific ring.

Meanwhile, a series of cultural activities will also be held during the festival, including a sand sculpture competition among university students, a sand sculpture summer camp, a photo exhibition, and beach football games.
