China Joins World Rank in Router Technique
Core router for "China hi-speed information demonstration network", a key project for state's 863 Program, has passed evaluation by the Ministry of Science and Technology August 9 in Beijing.
This shows China has made great breakthroughs in core router technique for a new-generation broadband network, therefore joins the rank of a world few claiming such technique.
Professor Wu Jiangxing, at the head of the research team of the project, says this is of great significance for building a new-generation network, a success as big as that on Digital PABX System in mid 90s.
As an essential device of Internet, core router can lift information transmission speed by thousand times. It functions just like a person's heart, the stronger it is, the more and faster information it transmits.
