Beijing Court Protects Litigant's Rights

From Thursday on, parties involved in lawsuits handled by the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court are allowed to participate in the drafting of court decisions) under the guidance of judge

This is part of a regulation, the first of its kind in China, issued Thursday by the court in order to guarantee the involved parties' full procedural rights.

President Ma Aidi of the court said in the past, the involved parties' procedural rights were not fully respected, and many people were not satisfied with the court's job in this regard.

The regulation, including 23 items, covers the whole process the courts handles a case, with concrete measures to ensure the judge's work is under strict supervision.

Moreover, a booklet about the entire process and points for attention has been printed and is free for provision at the court reception, a pioneer in China's judicial reform.
