Film Makers Urged to Create More Excellent ProductsDing Guangen, head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has called on artists to create more excellent films and television series with themes on major revolutionary historical events.Ding said, during China's celebration of the party's 80th founding anniversary period since early this year, a number of films and tv shows with revolutionary historical events as themes had became effective textbooks for education in patriotism and revolutionary tradition among Chinese people. Ding, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks Wednesday at a meeting on revolutionary films and tv shows making sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television. He stressed that the description of the Party's history and depicting Party's leaders in films and tv shows must true to the facts. He said China's revolutionary history until the founding of new China and the building of socialism is a rich source for artistic creation, which could become a cultural treasure for the Chinese people. Ding called on elite of screenwriters, producers, actors and actresses to be actively engaged in the manufacturing of revolutionary films and tv shows to create more excellent products for the people. |
