Afforestation Drive to Protect Yangtze River

In Wanzou District, Chongqing, there has been launched since March 1999 a mass afforestation drive to protect the Yangtze River. By now, over 30,000 mu of forest along with 13,000 mu of forest belt and 9,550 mu of economic forest have been built in the Three Gorges dam area of the city.

Guangzong Temple Given a Facelift

Guangzong Temple, known among the three existing temples of Tibetan Buddhism in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is now getting a facelift. Built in 1760, the temple had since been ruined for several times in war flames. This year, the regional authorities allocated 16 million yuan for renovation of the temple to get back its original magnificence.

Qinghuangdao Port Run 10 Million Tons of Turnover in July

Qinhuangdao Port achieved a monthly 10.046 million tons of turnover in July. From January to July this year, the port completed a total of 63.597 million tons of shipments, an increase of 7.942 million tons over the same period last year. Diaoshuilou Waterfall as of Old

The Diaoshuilou waterfall at Jingbo Lake in Heilongjiang Province recently reappears before domestic and foreign tourists after it vanished for three years. Jingbo Lake is 352.8 meters above sea level, the waterfall is 50 meters wide with its water current running 3,000 cubic meters per second, to which over 5,000 visitors have been attracted every day.
