Henan Exhibits Chinese Paintings of Great Artists
An exhibition of Chinese paintings by some 90 eminent artists opened Wednesday in Zhengzhou, capital of central China's
Henan
Province.
The exhibits include the monumental works of foremost painters such as Qi Baishi, Zhang Daqian and Xu Beihong. They cover all the important schools in China's art history of the last century.
Art critics said that the displayed works not only reflect the painters' high artistry in traditional inkwash painting but also indicate a trend featuring a blended artistry of China and Western countries.
The exhibition is jointly sponsored by the Henan Museum and an art museum in
Tianjin
, north China.
