China West Forum 2001 Invites Overseas Journalists
The China West Forum 2001 slated for September 4-6 in Xi'an City in northwest China's Shaanxi Province will be open to journalists from China and other parts of the world, organizers said Wednesday.
Cheng Andong, director of the Preparatory Committee for the forum and governor of Shaanxi, told a press conference held in Beijing that the press center for the forum is now open to local and international news media. Acceptance of accreditation applications will conclude on August 25.
The theme of this forum is investment environment and opening to the outside world in China's western region.
The 12 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the western part of China will make presentations at the forum.
The forum will invite representatives from the world's top 500 companies and other famous businesses from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign countries, Cheng said.
Chinese leaders will address the forum on governmental policies and measures concerning the development of the western region, he said.
