Chinese Exporter Refutes Reported Supply of Missile Components to Pakistan

China National Machinery and Equipment Import and Export Corporation (CMEC) issued a statement Wednesday, saying it has never exported or provided missile components to Pakistan.

Refuting The Washington Times' reports on August 6 and 7 that the CMEC had sent a dozen shipments of missile components to Pakistan, the company made the following statement:

1. The CMEC's business scope is mainly confined to the contracting of international engineering projects, and export of machinery and electrical products and complete plants. Since its founding, the CMEC has always operated strictly within the bounds of law and the business scope approved by the state. It has never exported or provided any military equipment, arms or related components to Pakistan or any other country.

2. The CMEC has never used trucks as a means of transportation for cross-border exports.

3, The two reports of The Washington Times are groundless and sheer fabrication and have caused adverse effects to the company's international business and reputation. The CMEC reserves the right to further pursue this matter.
