Egypt to Help Train Somali Security Forces: Interior MinisterEgypt will give support in training and restructuring Somali security forces, Egyptian Interior Minister Habib Ibrahim el-Adli said on Tuesday.Adli made the remarks after meeting with his Somali counterpart Taher Mohammad al-Sheikh, who arrived in Cairo Monday evening for his first visit to Egypt. The Egyptian Interior Ministry is keen to expand cooperation with Somalia within the framework of rebuilding the Somali security forces, Adli said, adding that Sheikh has expressed appreciation for Egypt's support for the Somali people. Although Egypt has not officially recognized Somalia's transitional government as the sole representative of the Somali people, the two sides have set up good relations. Somalia's transitional government is making efforts to establish its authority across the country and the government forces on Tuesday retook the southern port city of Kismayo from an opposition faction led by General Mohamed Saeed Hirsi Morgan.
