UN Concerned over Arrest of International Aid Workers in Afghanistan

The Office of the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Afghanistan expressed concerns about the arrest of eight international aid workers in Kabul, a statement of the office said Monday.

The relief workers belong to Shelter Now International, a US based non-governmental organization, it said.

According to a UN spokesman in New York, the office in Kabul is monitoring the situation and trying to obtain more information about the arrests from the Taliban.
