Fuzhou Customs Launches Anti-Smuggling Drive

The customs authority in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian Province in east China, has launched a campaign to crack down on a resurgence in smuggling activities.

According to sources with the Fuzhou Customs, the two-month campaign, starting last month, will target the smuggling of refined oil, fake tobacco and shoes.

The authorities have increased patrols on key sea areas and strengthened monitoring of suspicious ships.

They have also carried out supervision over the sales and transportation channels of imported oil.

The campaign has led to the seizure of 4,148 pairs of fake Adidas sports shoes, 24,000 pairs of fake Reebok sports shoes, 19, 572 pairs of fake Nike slippers in separate cases in July.
