Chinese Robots Fly to US for Soccer Match
"Blue Eagle", a robot team from University of Science and Technology of China, left on August 1 for Seattle of the US to attend the 5th World Cup Robot Soccer Match scheduled August 2 to 10.

After winning ninth place last year the team will continue to attend match of the "emulation group", in which it will strive to get into the first eight and this is also the first time in China's history for it to take part in "four leg group" competition.

RobotCup is the world biggest and highest of its kind, including competition for small robots, medium-sized robots, emulated and four-legged ones. This time there will be 123 teams from more than 30 countries to take part in the event. Altogether 44 teams from 16 countries, such as the US, Japan and Germany registered for the emulation group. Those that are going to participate in "four-legged group" only number 16 teams and they are from University of Science and Technology of China, Carnegie Mellon University of the US, the University of Tokyo, and Humboldt University of Germany.
