HKUST Business School Ranked No.1 in Asia

The school of Business and Management of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST Business School) is ranked No.1 of top MBA schools in Asia by a yearly Asia-Inc survey released here Friday.

This is the first time a Hong Kong institution has been ranked first in any regional or international business school rankings.

HKUST was ranked No.5 in the last survey by Asia-Inc, a monthly regional business publication, in 2000.

The 2001 survey says the global-standard intellectual capital that HKUST possesses is its real advantage.

Another Hong Kong university, the Chinese University of Hong Kong is ranked fourth in the 36-school list.

Professor K.C. Chan, acting dean of HKUST Business School, said, "The fact that two Hong Kong business schools have made the top 4 in the survey is a strong testimony to the high quality of management education available in this city."

HKUST was established in 1991. Its full-time MBA program was the only Asian program ranked by the Financial Times earlier this year as among the world's top 50.
