Beijing Constable Museum Opens

BEIJING, August 2 (Xinhuanet) -- The Beijing Constabulary Museum was formally opened to the public in this Chinese national capital on August 2, to showcase the history and development of the police around world and especially in China.

The museum, situated on Dongjiaominxiang in downtown Beijing and with 2,000 square meters of floor space for the exhibition, highlights over 7,000 exhibits relating to the police force collected from China and from overseas, with the oldest items being from the Han Dynasty (206 B.C. to 220 A.D.).

Only about 1,500 police-related items are put on display at the museum, some of which are being shown to the public for the first time.
