More College Graduates Become Enlisted in North China Province

More college graduates in north China's Shanxi Province have volunteered to serve in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) or the armed police in recent years.

Statistics show that 260 college graduates have enlisted in the PLA and the armed police this year. They will take administrative or technical posts after strict political, military and professional training.

Li Zhihui, a graduate from Shanxi University, was excited to be enrolled at the Shanxi provincial headquarters of the armed police. "It's a dream that has clung to me since childhood," he wrote in a letter to his mother.

A source from the local armed police said 117 college graduates have been enlisted here since 1998, most of whom are top students at school.

"They have demonstrated a true love for the army and a strong desire to safeguard the motherland," he said.
