209 Works Win China Journalism Prizes
Some 209 outstanding news works written by various news organizations nationwide on August 2 received the Eleventh China Journalism Prize awards from the All-China Journalists Association for their coverage of the country's major events in 2000.
The first prize was granted to 32 works, and 70 and 107 won the second and third prizes respectively.
The news works winning this year's China Journalism Prize, the most prestigious press award in the country, were mainly reports on China's major events from all walks of life, such as Xinhua New Agency's reports on the summit between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Republic of Korea, People's Daily's editorial on CPC General Secretary Jiang Zemin's thoughts of " three represent's", and People's Liberation Army Newspaper's commentary titled ""Taiwan independence' Means War".
The prize winners were selected from news works written by the country's central, provincial and municipal news organizations, involving newspapers, and radio and TV stations.
